Jonathan grew up in Phoenix Arizona where he began as a self taught guitarist at the age of 12. Later on Jonathan received a Bachelors of Arts from Northern Arizona University studying Jazz, classical guitar and composition. Now living in Chicago Jonathan continues to play and study a variety of musical styles from Jazz, Classical, Rock, Blues, and Latin music.
Jonathan Saillant grew up in Phoenix, Arizona, where he found a love for music at an early age. He began as a self-taught musician until eventually attending Northern Arizona University (NAU), where he received a Bachelor of Arts in Music with a focus in jazz performance, classical performance, and composition. While attending NAU, Jonathan performed in a variety of jazz ensembles, classical ensembles, contemporary ensembles, and the NAU Mariachi Band. While a member of the NAU Jazz Ensemble, Jonathan led music clinics for high school and middle school bands. He also performed
concerts with world-class musicians such as Joel Frahm, Lucas Pino, Denis Roland, Brice Winston, and more.
Jonathan has since moved to Chicago to continue performing as a musician and begin a career as a music teacher. As a teacher, Jonathan strives to instill a greater appreciation and understanding of music, while teaching students the theory and technical aspects of playing the guitar. By utilizing these methods Jonathan hopes to connect with his students to create a lesson specific to their goals while helping them grow into well-rounded musicians.
