Dgybert Jean started his violin studies at age eleven in his home state of Massachusetts. He became steadily interested in violin while studying with Charles Dimmick, concertmaster of the Portland Symphony. In 2019, he graduated with a B.M. in Violin Performance and a minor in Education Studies from Ithaca College.
Dgybert has experiences teaching all age groups. Dgybert started teaching while in high school, where he was a substitute teacher at the Philadelphie church music program. Throughout his high school, and undergraduate career, he spent many hours observing teachers teach in order to become a better teacher. In 2017, he was a student teacher at the St. Mary’s Catholic School in Cortland, NY under the guidance of Julie Carr. In 2018, Mr. Jean was a fellow at the Chloe Trevor Music Academy, teaching and performing in the fellowship ensemble.
In 2015, Dgybert received the first prize award for the Beethoven’s Society of Melrose Student Music Awards concert. He was also the recipient of the William Walsman Violin Scholarship.
Dgybert has extensive experiences playing in orchestras. He was a member of the Melrose Symphony Orchestra from 2011-2015. He has attended the Brevard Music Festival and Green Mountain Chamber Music Festival.
Dgybert studies with Jasmine Lin at the Chicago College of Performing Arts at Roosevelt University, pursuing a M.M in Violin Performance. His primary teachers include Susan Waterbury, Charles Dimmick and Kirsten Marshall.
